Wm. Haskins Woodworks is a maker of fine hand fashioned, custom furniture. Individual pieces are crafted one at a time employing time honored methods of joinery – pegged mortise and tenon and dovetailed casework – to ensure these works last for generations.

Our small shop on Tennessee’s Cumberland Plateau produces remarkable furniture pieces both on private commission and for display in craft galleries. Design work on commissioned pieces can be a collaborative process beginning with an on site visit to discuss your specific needs and stylistic desires. Further, shop drawings and photographic construction updates keep you involved and abreast of progress throughout the project from rough sketch to final installation.

Much of our past work has involved the use of reclaimed wood. We maintain stocks of antique chestnut and oak from the tobacco barns of Appalachia and old growth heart pine from farms and factories in Florida. Original designs are conceived with the unique character of this wood in mind. Clean lines, balanced proportions, and clarity of finish serve to showcase the natural beauty of these woods. To learn more about the lumber we use please visit the Woods page.
